I am sharing the things which I learned in 2017 .These are the things which I learned from friends / places / observations .

1.Never take life too seriously because life never takes you seriously .Instead take it sincerely .

2. Health is the biggest asset you can strive for.

3.A man who does not love does not suffer .

4.Regrets will haunt us for the whole life . Failures only last for a while.

5.Start reading .

6.Disconnect to connect.

7.Ask ,Ask and Ask. There are always wonderful people .They will help you. ( Recently I was denied for the lift for 20 times. Obviously I got it for the 21st time)

8. Once in a while do the things for which you do not get anything in return.

9.Embrace solitude .It is the best attitude.

10. It is natural to be judged. We also judge others.

13 .Have friends .Life will be a lot easier.

14 .Learn a new skill.

15 .Always be grateful .Many people are doing a lot for us all the time which we often take granted .

16. Sometimes all you have is "Faith".  Have faith in " Faith".

Six Harsh Truths I learned the hard way.

1. 90 percent of our problem in our life
can be solved by money .Rest 10 percent are worth solving for.
2.   We are so habitual of selfishness in the world  ,if someone does something for us without any expectation in return -  we see them with suspicion .
3.It is human nature that people will take you for granted .If you are persistently  nice to them ,it will be construed as your weakness rather than your strength .
4. Some people who go to temples , put pictures of Saints / Gods on their walls, read Gita & Quran and  bow down all the time in front of dieties are the same people you will find running after money by wrong means which may involve hurting other people ,cheating  them all the time by even snatching their bread and butter .They worship the unknown but undermine the  pain of the known.
5.Expectations of reward for honesty is the most misplaced notion of today's world.
6 . Some people shall instantly judge you by your clothes ,number of cars you drive ,number of houses you own and your bank balance .For them your values are never important .

IWD -16

Today is International Women Day. This is often said that we remember all the respect  and praise for women on this day only . That is true. I am also doing that but I still would that because precisely that's the purpose of having this day .Surely  it should not be limited to this day only .
I would like to write about my favorite women today.   In fact there are many but I will write about only 5.
1. Saina NehwalI am inspired by her dedication toward sport.

2.Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom  : I am inspired by her fighting spirit. She fought all the hurdles to pursue her passion.
3.Malala Yousafzai  : I am inspired by her courage. She got shot while doing advocacy for women education rights.
4. Irom Cahnu Sharmila : I am inspired by her persistance. She is on hunger strike from Nov , 2000 for her cause .
5. Sheryl Sandberg  : COO of facebook. She is great advocate for equal rights of women . Her works through Lean In ( http://leanin.org/) are amazing. Moreover I was inspired by her love in her facebook post over loss of her husband ," if she knew about it ,even that she would have taken that journey.
There are many others whom respect very much  .
but I want to write why I respect women more than men:
1. They  love and  for you unconditionally. -mothers do that.
2. They are dedicated .
3. They care more.
4.They can easily smile hiding many problems inside.
5. Most importantly , I don't believe the popular belief told many times in boys' circles : "Girls don't have mind".  All the girls I know are equally smart and intelligent .

Happy women's day to all wonderful women  out there.

"Chotu Ek Chai Dena"

Recently Kailash Satyarthi got the Nobel Prize for peace with Malala Yousafzai. It is a  proud moment for us because India has got award after 1998 when it was awarded to Amartya Sen for his contribution in economics. We have got this award  second time for the peace. ( First was awarded to Mother Teresa ).

We feel very much inspired by both. Malala Yousafzai is the youngest recipient (she is just 17 !) and she had the courage to advocate  women education  in her  native place where Taliban banned it . She even got shot . I heard her speaking and the way she says I want to be a politician but a good politician is inspiring .
Kailash  Satyarthi  has really  done a great work . He has given life to more than 80000 children . So it is a great moment for us .
Another aspect of this event is the opportunities we have got . We feel a little ashamed  that this award was about Right of a Child to Education .  We as a nation are not able to provide this.Just think as a  person living in a foreign country .(Who has not traveled to India and does know very little about India)  He is a curious about Nobel peace prize .He  reads about the announcement of the same. He reads about the work for which prize is given . He would surely get an impression that oh India is a country of child laborers.  .Our 11% children are labors. I think  it has to be absolutely zero. A child is supposed to study and play not work and dream big dreams.

So where does lie the opportunity?
It was present already but now it is in spotlight .
1,It is at red light signal  where  boy or girl tries to  sell you something or merely begging risking her life.

2,It is at  a tea shop outside your office or college . You can relate the title of  the post here.

3. It is at a construction site where a whole family is employed (Mother , father , Chotu and Choti ).
If you try to hear a word there is a sentence  " Choti eet Dena"(Choti pass the brick).
4. It is at our grocery shop.
5. It is in our local trains.
6 .It is outside our temples .
7. It is  ever appearing  news of a missing child mostly a girl.
8. It is with the child marrige
9. It is with the juvenile crime.
10 . It is inside our homes. Sister want to go to school like her brother.

So we should not miss the opportunity .

Remember Choti and   Chotu have a name.  We have to find out the name .It could be Abdul Kalam , Chanda Kochar or  Deepika Padukone.  :)

Happy Diwali :)

Choices

Life is full of choices . We have to make choices too often . Modern age is filled of choices . Take the example of career. Our seniors had lass diverse choices  . So taking a choice was not a big deal at that time.  We have plenty of career options. No one would have thought 20 years back that writing a blog may be a career. (  By the way I m not writing blog as a career :P)

Advantages of too many choices may be apparent but there are some  problems too. Remember your shopping day when you wanted to buy a shirt. Shopkeeper showed you a shirt , you liked it . He showed you  next shirt  you liked that also. You saw five shirts . You liked 3 shirts. You can afford only 1. Now you have to take one shirt.  what to do . Now it is not matter of selecting one , it is more matter of giving up two shirts. Shopkeeper want you to decide hurriedly because he knows you are going to buy 1 for sure. You don't know , you feel stuck . Then you somehow decide one. Take the one with u but I am sure on the way you thought about the other two shirts for sure .

One big advantage of this crisis is that , the people who can take quick decisions become leader. They follow one philosophy that "it is not choice but the action on the taken choice make it right or wrong ."
Well that is also true but believe me choices are not as simple as they look.

J. K . Rolling wrote  in Harry Potter and the Chamber  of secrets about choices ,

" It is our choices , Harry , that show what we truly are , far more than our abilities ."

I am trying to point out following choices which I find very typical  to take.

1. To be versus to have .
2. To  do versus  not to do.
3. To do nothing versus to do something bad.
4. Being receiver versus giver .
5.To simplify versus to complicate.
6. To be part of problem versus solution .
So  lets have courage to make a choice out of choices .

10 Things

Hi all ! :)

Welcome to my blog.

In life we often forget some very important things . These things/acts are often very easy. They don't demand very much . Sometimes it is just our awareness. Sometimes it is matter of  our attitude. How we see things is more important than how things are.
Here are these 10  things,
1. To Say thank you  to someone who helps us.
2. To be humble when we are successful.
3. To love what we have in pursuit of what we want.
4. To help .
5. To appreciate.
6. To say our truth. We let our voice down by mass opinion.
7. To have faith. It works, especially  when no one is around , u can faith " Faith".
8. To smile  .
9. To work hard before reward.
10 .To say sorry when we are wrong . It takes courage.

I wish I don't forget these things next time.

From 2014

10 things I learned in the  half part of  2014 year

1. Our quality of life has no relation with with  our external reputation. Often times too much attention from outside leads us one  to do  things which are not part of oneself.

2.  Success or mastery is a continuous effort. The moment we stop expanding our limits , we  stop growing.

3. Fear is very much part of us. The only way to overcome it is do the things that we are most afraid to do.

4.  If we have passion for something or love for someone   , then we need not any reason not  to carry that passion. It is true that we always  have expectation but sometimes they  are not met. There are disappointments. Sometimes even our efforts are not acknowledged, they just go unnoticed or uncared for but if we our love/passion is from  the heart we will be able to continue.

5. It is always easy to tell others that you  should not  loose faith when they are in difficulty.

6. People often tell   they are fine when they are not . If we go through their deep eyes , we can see their pains or they have decided to stay positive and act instead of complaining.

7. The ability to celebrate another man's success is very important strength . It is very important virtue required to reach your success.

8. If we can do something for someone without any expectation even not for sake of our ego building then it  gives us very much inner strength.

9. Being Realistic is not a bad thing, just add some hope with it.

10.  There are always many nice and helping people around us . Sometimes we just need to ask :)
